Beyond™

Private by design

Your screens, not a window into your home.

Privacy is everything. Beyond™ TV, Spaces TV and Beyond™ Gateway are made to sit in your lounge, your shop and your hallway without watching, listening or selling. Here is what each one shares, in plain words.

True of all of them

Six promises, checked against the code of every product on this page.

  • No ads, no trackers

No ad networks and no third-party trackers on your TV or your router. Nothing is sold, ever.

  • What you do stays home

What you watch and what your devices do online never go to advertisers, data brokers or anyone outside your household. Nobody builds a profile of you.

  • No camera, no microphone

None of them ask for your TV's camera or microphone, so nothing is watching or listening to the room.

  • Only Beyond's own updates

TV and router updates are signed by Beyond, and a version that does not match is thrown away.

  • You hold the switch

Anything shared is shared with your own household, or is a small health check you can turn off. Turning it off deletes what we had.

  • Kept close to home

Built in Aotearoa. What does get stored is kept in Sydney, the closest data centre to New Zealand, not in the United States.

Beyond™ TV

The home screen for Google TV, LG and Samsung. No account, and nothing about what you watch leaves the TV.

About Beyond™ TV

  • What you watch stays on the TV

Not linked, it never leaves the TV. Linked to Beyond Family, your own household's phones can see what's on now, for the phone remote, and nobody else can.

  • No account needed

It works without signing in to anything. Beyond Family is an extra you choose.

  • No ads on the home screen

No sponsored rows, banners or autoplaying promos. Picks come from what's trending, only from apps you already have.

  • A health check you can turn off

Once a day the TV tells us a made-up id, roughly which city, its make and model, its versions and how often it crashed, so we can fix a problem before you have to ask. Never a name, never what you watch, and your internet address is not kept. Home Settings › Help fix problems turns it off and deletes it.

  • No camera or microphone

It has no permission to use either. If you choose to speak to it, your TV's own voice search does the listening.

  • Only Beyond's updates

A new version installs only if it is signed the same way as the copy on your TV, and the TV checks again itself.

  • Nothing rooted

Nothing is uninstalled, and one button puts the original home screen back.

Spaces TV

Screens for schools, gyms, campuses and shop windows, run from Beyond™ Spaces. A screen only plays what you send it.

About Spaces TV

  • It plays, it does not watch

A screen shows your pictures, videos and pages. It never asks for a camera or microphone and learns nothing about the people walking past.

  • Your files are not public

Pictures and videos are kept privately and reach your screens through links that expire, not addresses anyone can share.

  • Walled off from everyone else

Another business can't see your screens, your playlists or your files.

  • Each screen has its own key

Only that screen holds it. Remove a screen in Spaces and it forgets everything it was showing and goes back to a fresh code.

  • Pages over secure links only

A web page on a screen must use https, so nobody on the shop Wi-Fi can swap what it shows.

Beyond™ Gateway

Home router software. What happens in your house stays on your router.

About Beyond™ Gateway

  • Your devices stay in the house

Their names, their addresses and what they do online are never sent anywhere.

  • It only asks one thing

Once a night it asks whether there's a new version of itself. That is all it says to the internet on its own.

  • Beyond Family is look-only

Linked, your household sees whether the internet is up, the names you gave your devices and whether each is online. Never a device's address, your Wi-Fi password or what anyone does online, and Beyond Family can't change the router.

  • Only Beyond's updates

It installs only versions signed by Beyond, keeping every setting. Anything that doesn't match is thrown away.
