Terms

Plain words about working with us.

What you can expect from Beyond, what we ask of you, and where we each stand if something goes wrong. Last updated 03/10/2026.

Who we are, and agreeing to these terms

Beyond Technology Professionals (Beyond, we, us) is a New Zealand business based in Hamilton, Waikato. These terms cover gobeyond.nz, the sites that redirect to it, and every service we provide. By using the site, accepting a quote or asking us to do work, you agree to them. If you have a signed service agreement with us, that agreement wins wherever the two differ.

Our services, quotes and scope

We provide IT support and managed services, cybersecurity, fibre and internet, Wi-Fi, CCTV and alarms, systems integration, AI automation, and websites and hosting. Most of our customers are professional services firms and trades businesses, and we also look after some homes.

  • A quote describes what we will do and what it costs. It is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise.
  • Work outside the quote is extra. We tell you before we do it, and we price it before we start where we can.
  • Where a job depends on a third party, such as a fibre provider or a manufacturer, their timing is theirs. We keep you posted.

Fees, invoicing and payment

  • Prices are in New Zealand dollars and exclude GST unless stated.
  • Invoices are due on the 20th of the month following the invoice date, unless your quote or agreement says otherwise.
  • Overdue accounts may be charged a late fee and interest, and we may pause work or services until the account is settled. If we have to recover a debt, the reasonable costs of doing so are added to it.
  • Managed services and hosting are billed in advance, monthly, unless agreed otherwise.

Hardware and third party products

Hardware, software licences and subscriptions we supply come with the manufacturer's or provider's warranty and terms, which we pass through to you. We will help you make a warranty claim. Ownership of hardware stays with us until it is paid for in full. Products from other companies, Ajax, Proton, Microsoft and the like, are governed by their own terms once you use them.

What we ask of you

  • Give us accurate information about your business, your systems and what you need.
  • Give us safe access to your sites, systems and accounts when the work needs it, and tell us about anything on site we should know about.
  • Keep passwords, codes and keys we give you safe, and tell us straight away if you think any have been exposed.
  • Use what we provide lawfully, and not to harm, spam or break into anyone else's systems.
  • Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose, unless backups are part of what we are managing for you.

Managed services, support hours and response times

Where you have a service agreement with us, it sets your support hours, response times and what is included. Without one, support is provided during business hours on a best effort basis and billed at our current rates. We will always tell you when something is outside your plan before we charge for it. Monitoring and alarm response for security systems are provided by the monitoring provider named in your agreement.

Data, security and confidentiality

We treat what we see on your systems as confidential and use it only to do the work. We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 2020; our privacy policy says what this site collects and why. We take security seriously, but no system is beyond attack. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your data we tell you promptly and help you deal with it.

Intellectual property

Our tools, code, templates, documents and content stay ours, including anything we build to deliver your work, and you get a licence to use them for the purpose we provided them. Your data, your content and your brand stay yours. Where we build something bespoke for you and the quote says you own it, you own it once it is paid for.

Affiliate and partner disclosure

We may earn a commission or referral fee when people sign up to products we recommend or link to, for example through PartnerStack and other affiliate programmes. This never changes the price you pay, and we only recommend tools we would use ourselves. Links that pay us are marked as sponsored on this site.

Our liability

If you are buying from us for business purposes, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply, as section 43 of that Act allows, and that it is fair and reasonable for the two of us to contract out of it. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Fair Trading Act 1986 or the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 that cannot lawfully be excluded, including where you are buying as a consumer.

Where the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the services the claim relates to in the 12 months before it arose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost data or lost business, however it arises. We are not responsible for failures caused by third party products, networks or providers, or by information or access you did not give us.

Ending things

  • Either side can end a managed service or hosting plan with 30 days' written notice, unless your agreement sets a minimum term or a different notice period.
  • You can cancel one off work before it starts. Costs we have already incurred, such as hardware ordered for you, are payable.
  • We can end or suspend services if an account is overdue, if the service is being used unlawfully, or if continuing would put people or systems at risk. We tell you first wherever we can.
  • When a service ends you pay for work done to that point, and we hand back your data and access in a usable form within a reasonable time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, including the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017, and any dispute is for the New Zealand courts. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Changes to these terms

We update these terms now and then. The date at the top tells you when. The version on this page at the time we do work for you is the one that applies, and we tell current clients about changes that affect them.
